SEAFORD PARK PRIMARY PARTNERSHIP WITH BELVEDERE COMMUNITY CENTRE

 

Seaford Park Primary School has developed a relationship with Belvedere Community Centre.  The centre run a variety of programs including exercise, Tai Chi, playgroup, Literacy & Numeracy support classes, French classes, computer classes, craft, parent support groups such as breast feeding, sewing and cake decorating.  If you would like to know more about the programs offered by our local Belvedere Community Centre please come to the office and pick up a timetable. A new program has been developed to assist adults in our area develop their Literacy and Numeracy skills.  Daytime and evening classes are available.  Classes are designed to help individuals with every day and employability skills, including Reading, Writing and basic Maths.

 

Parents looking to return to the workforce are invited to participate in computer classes.  These classes are tailored to meet the individual needs of participants and are run on Thursdays.  These classes have very low numbers and run for ten weeks.  The cost is $79.  Participants can take part in beginning classes or take classes focused on Microsoft Office or a variety of different technology. Our connection with Belvedere Community Centre has also enabled us to access information about free financial counselling.  Financial Capability Officers can advise families on their entitlements such as grants and concessions that could increase your income or save you money on your bills.  They can also help organise easy to manage payment schemes, access affordable loan options and help people to negotiate Centrelink. The Family Mediation Centre is able to offer families in our community a range of financial related support including interest free and low interest loans for the purchase of whitegoods, assistance negotiating payment schemes, Energy Relief Grants, assistance with Telstra and other bills, mortgage relief scheme, bond loans, assistance with rent in arrears, accommodation assistance, Government Home Renovation loans, Centrelink advances and special assistance and also assistance with tax.
